Privacy Policy

OZtoGram is a calculator. It works without knowing who you are, and that is on purpose. See what the site is and is not. This page sets out exactly what happens to information when you use it.

What we do not collect

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, no email box, no login. The whole site works without knowing anything about you.
• No cookies at all. Not advertising cookies, not analytics cookies, not "essential" ones. The site sets none. It does keep one small thing in your browser, your recent conversions, which is described below and never leaves your device.
• Nothing you type is sent anywhere. The calculator does its arithmetic in your browser. The amounts you enter are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, so there is no record of them to keep, lose, or hand over.
• One third-party request, and only one. Fonts and images are all served from this site. The single exception is the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon described below, which loads from cloudflareinsights.com. Nothing else. You can confirm it in your browser's network tab.
• Nothing sold or shared. There is no personal information to sell, and we would not sell it if there were.
• No advertising. None today. If that ever changes, this page is updated first.

What stays in your browser

The calculator keeps a short list of your recent conversions using sessionStorage. That data never leaves your device and is erased when you close the tab. Clearing your browser data removes it immediately.

We mention this specifically because privacy rules cover anything stored on your device, not only cookies. This is the one thing we store. It exists so the calculator can show what you just converted, it is gone when the tab closes, and no copy of it reaches us or anyone else.

When you share a conversion, the amount and unit travel in the URL you copy (for example ?amt=10&unit=oz&type=troy). That happens only when you choose to copy or share the link.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages answer people's questions and which pages are slow. That is the whole reason it is here. It is the only analytics on the site and the only third-party script on any page, it sets no cookies, and it cannot tell us who you are. We name it rather than saying "we use analytics" so you can look it up and check the claim yourself.

What we use it for: seeing which pages actually answer people's questions and which get abandoned, finding pages that load slowly, and spotting conversions we have got wrong when a page gets traffic but nobody stays. That is the whole purpose. We have no interest in who you are, and the tool could not tell us.

Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not follow anyone between websites. It records aggregate page views, referrers, and performance timings. Neither we nor Cloudflare could identify an individual visitor from it. We chose it specifically so that adding analytics would not change any promise made on this page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare as a static site. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical request data, including IP addresses. That is how pages get delivered and abuse gets blocked. It runs under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms. We do not use it for analytics or marketing.

Precious-metal price data

We do not fetch, cache, or publish any metal price. The melt value calculator asks you to type in the spot figure yourself, and the arithmetic then runs in your browser like everything else here. There is no price provider in the picture, so using that page contacts no third party and the number you enter is never sent to us.

Advertising

OZtoGram currently carries no advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before any ad code goes live. It will name the ad network, describe the cookies or identifiers involved, and explain your choices. That includes how to opt out of personalised ads. We will not run ads first and update this page afterwards.

Your rights

We do not hold personal data about you. So there is normally nothing for us to find, correct, or delete. If you think we hold something about you, write to us and we will act on it.

Children

This site is a general-purpose reference tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
